Responsibility

Do More. Be More.

Environmental

Environmental Footprint Assessment:

In 2008 we began to assess the impact of our business on the environment in order to:

  • Understand our environmental baseline
  • Identify priorities
  • Set measurable goals for improvement

Green Building:

Our first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified Dunkin’ Donuts store opened in October 2008 in St. Petersburg, Florida. We plan to incorporate key learnings from this store into our future building models.

Energy Efficiency

Energy efficiency is a green building principle our franchisees can use in their existing stores to reduce carbon emissions and lower their utility bills.   We created a customized Energy Efficiency pamphlet to help them get started.

The pamphlet provides the following “steps to save” recommendations:

  • Install occupancy sensor controls in bathrooms, offices, and storage closets
  • Replace analog HVAC thermostats with programmable thermostats
  • Replace existing walk-in cooler and freezer motors with electronically commutated motors
  • Implement a web-based energy management system
